Dear friends in creative places of the world:
Greetings from Tata Soemardi of Bandung by way of Sydney!
 
I'd like to bring to your attention an independent film made by creative young 
friends from Bandung that is creating a buzz in the Internet and
indie circles. From what I've seen through its trailer,  cin(T)a the movie  
touches on religious and race relations as a reality in contemporary
Indonesia, coupled with a dose of romance. Here are the links:

cin(T)a the movie  will be premiering in London this coming Friday 29th May, 
followed by a roadshow in UK universities (schedule below). Hopefully
it can eventually be screened in Indonesia and elsewhere.
 
The main partners-in-crime behind  cin(T)a  are ITB graduates  S.A.M. Maria 
(director) and Adi Panuntun (producer - currently studying in the
UK), along with a crew of creative talent
 that is Bandung's future. Obviously I'm plugging for the film because of its 
cinematic qualities and
real-life issues it raises - and that it's set amongst the nostalgic 
architecture of the ITB campus!
 
I hope you appreciate this information about  cin(T)a.  Please share your 
thoughts on the movie/trailer with other interested friends and
the film-makers. I wish every success for the world premiere of  cin(T)a the 
movie  in London these coming days. For the time being, I'll just have
to be content with other independent movies at next week's Sydney Film Festival!
